Agricultural Law

Agricultural Lawyers enjoy meeting farmers and we are no exception. We give great attention to detail and if land is involved we usually inspect free of charge.

In relation to sales and purchasers of land we are fully familiar with all procedures and also the mortgages and the associated third party interests (e.g. wife or partner/adult children) which can be involved.

We are constantly dealing with farm business tenancies and letting matters and these days the family tax planning with associated partnership agreements and clearly drafted Wills are a matter of vital importance.

There are all sorts of other matters associated with and fringing on our practice in the field of Agricultural Law and so we can also advice on: -

  • Applications and defences to the Agricultural Land Tribunal concerning secure tenancy succession
  • Matters involving boundary disputes
  • Appearance before the Magistrates Courts in relation to regulatory work
  • Matters concerning Animal Law

We have an active practice in the matter of easements for services such as water pipes, gas lines and we have recently done some work involving complicated mineral right matters.

Then of course there is the matter of Sporting Rights which are more and more valuable these days.

We have an in depth knowledge in relation to all Countryside pursuits and can advise in relation to sales of Sporting Rights or leases of them over both long and short periods.

Please contact either Harry Chrisp, Derwent Gibson or Michael Macgregor in our Hexham office.
